INDOOR rower Anna Bailey is a world record-holder after completing the 100km individual row in seven hours, 43 minutes, 58.9 seconds.
Bailey, from Hanley Swan, knocked 12 minutes off the British women's record and also set a new mark for the over 50 women category.
She said: "I was just very, very relieved because I knew what sort of time I had done. It was just sheer relief. I said to my coach, I'm never doing that again'.
"It feels more like a job done. I'm just relieved."
The feat was achieved at the Attiva Fitness Centre in Malvern and Bailey completed the row in 15km chunks, with a short rest for stretching and change of shirt and gloves between each section.
During the row, she drank five litres of a specialist glucose and electrolyte drink, expended about 5,000 calories and lost 1.5 kilograms.
