WORCESTER Ciy begin their quest for FA Cup success with a home match against Midland Alliance outfit Romulus in the second qualifying round.

City enjoyed a remarkable seven-match run in the competition last year, culminating with a televised 1-0 home defeat to Coca-Cola League One side Huddersfield Town in the second round proper.

That run began with a 7-0 second qualifying round victory over Bemerton Heath Harlequins at St George's Lane.

But City boss Andy Preece insists his side will not underestimate a team that is unbeaten this season and has scored 11 goals in reaching this stage.

Romulus, who ground-share with Sutton Coldfield Town, thrashed Shirebrook Town 6-0 in the previous round after dispatching Stourport Swifts 5-0 in a preliminary round replay.

Preece said: "We had a great run last year and we will be looking to try and do the same again.

"All you can ask for is a home draw and we will show Romulus the same respect we showed teams last year.

"Romulus are a good side and they have shown that this season. We will do our homework the same, whatever league they are in.

"No game is easy and I expect it to be tough. There will be no let-up from us and it we will expect a tough game."

The match, City's first in the competition this season, is scheduled for Saturday, September 30.
