WORCESTER Wolves will be looking to kick-off the British Basketball League Trophy campaign in style when they entertain Guildford Heat tonight (7pm).

The University of Worcester-based side will be hoping they can continue to impress against last season’s beaten trophy finalists after only losing to director of basketball Paul James’ old employers once last term.

With six new faces in the Wolves side, Heat head coach Creon Raftopoulos believes James has put together a more than useful squad for the new campaign.

He said: “PJ has reshuffled his pack by not bringing back his three imports from last year. Rod Middleton, Justin Dobbins and Danny Gilbert were all key contributors for Worcester last season so he must have seen something special in the guys he has replaced them with.”

“Arnas Kazlauskas will be a huge signing for them as he brings a wealth of experience from top European Leagues.

“Sherrad Prezzie-Blue had a good season at Worthing and knows this league so he won’t need time to adjust to the BBL style of play.”
