JAMILLE Matt scored the decisive goal as Kidderminster Harriers maintained their excellent away form as they edged out fired-up Kettering.

Steve Burr’s team overcame a spirited Poppies side, looking to bounce back from a 5-3 defeat to Hayes and Yeading, and the blistering heat to take all three points at Nene Park.

It was Harriers’ fifth away win in seven Blue Square Bet Premier games and lifted them to fifth-place.

Kidderminster had their chances to extend their lead but were also indebted to stand-in keeper Dean Lyness, who produced one fine save on a more than satisfying debut.

Lyness was called into the team with first choice keeper Danny Lewis out with a knee problem.

Matt struck the winner two minutes before the break after good work in midfield by Jack Byrne.

Harriers: Lyness, Vaughan, Mike Williams, Jones, Sharpe, Byrne, Phelan (Vincent 54), Medley, Nick Wright (Marc Williams 63), Gittings, Matt (T Wright 76). Subs not used: Demetriou, Briscoe.
