KIDDERMINSTER Carolians got off to the worst possible start against highly-fancied Aston Old Edwardians in Midlands Three West (North) after conceding a converted try in the first minute.
They responded almost immediately with a try from captain Ben Turner, who powered over following a catch-and-drive and a superb surge from the KCs pack.
Despite having a forward sin-binned, the visitors slotted a penalty to lead 10-5 at half-time.
The decisive moment of the match occurred shortly after the break when the referee failed to spot an obvious knock-on which led to a second try for Aston.
KCs fell further behind to two penalty kicks by the OEs fly-half but continued to take the game to their opponents and were rewarded with a last- minute try from James Whitehouse, who was first to react to a kick through by Chris Pinner, making the final score 21- 10.
