IT'S a big relief to get that first home win.

When things are not going well people can keep going on about it and until you do something about it, it will always be a negative talking point.

The win against Blyth Spartans will go a long way to helping us.

It was a good performance in the second-half but I still think we didn't play that badly in the first-half - apart from defending poorly at times.

There was no way we should have been 2-0 down at half-time. We had some really good chances, Blyth were just more clinical than we were. They probably had three chances and scored two and we probably had four or five and scored none.

I always felt we were going to score but just wondered when the goal was going to come. The first one was pretty late so we were wondering whether we really had enough time to get back in and win the game. Fortunately we did and showed good character.

When that first win is going to come is something that goes through your mind because we are getting into the season and we really haven't looked like winning at home in any of the games apart from Redditch.

I was confident because of the way we played against Redditch, it was a step up on previous performances.

We didn't change things and I think it's a case of just keeping to what you know to be best.

I think the win was well overdue, but well deserved.

We wouldn't want to be going into the FA Cup game with Romulus with the pressure of not having won at home all season but we will have total respect for the team we are going to be playing because they have had a fantastic start to the season.

There are shocks in the FA Cup at all levels so we have to do our homework and treat every team with respect. We will be as prepared as we can be.

We are not too bad on injuries at the moment.

Adam Burley has got a problem with his knee, but we hope it will be sorted out by the time he's available for selection after this Saturday's ban.

Goalkeeper James Coates is taking a long time with his broken finger and it looks like it could be another three weeks. He's just got to be patient.

Striker Adam Webster is making slow but steady progress at this moment in time. He's a little bit ahead of schedule but he's still only doing very light jogging.

The real test will come when he starts to step up his training to see whether he has any reaction and whether it will need an operation.
