LESS than 24 hours after boxing legend Marco Antonio Barrera’s visit to the club, Worcester City ABC junior Trent Smith won the class ‘A’ West Midlands 60kg title.
Fired up from the Barrera visit, Smith outclassed his opponent from the first bell.
Up against a strong and aggressive Mark Roberts of Great Wryley, Smith controlled proceedings with his fast, powerful jabs.
Roberts had no answer to Smith’s boxing ability and was unable to land many of his swinging punches.
In the latter stages of the bout, the Worcester boxer stepped up through the gears and caught Roberts with jolting right upper-cuts.
Smith is now through to the Midlands final on a date and venue yet to be confirmed.
