WORCESTERSHIRE'S George Rhodes helped New Zealand side Onslow CC to set a scorching pace in the Ewen Chatfield Trophy.

The Worcestershire all-rounder helped Onslow to chalk up a fifth successive win, a 58-run triumph over Taita CC at Fraser Park.

Rhodes came in at 25 for two after Onslow had elected to bat and helped to stabilise the innings while making 21 in a third-wicket stand of 70 with Sean O’Connor (55).

He was third out at 95 and Onslow were dismissed for 184.

It proved to be more than sufficient as Taita were bowled out for 126 in 35.5 overs with Calvin Harrison (4-34) and O’Connor (3-36) the main wicket-takers.

Dell’s side had already secured first innings points last week, scoring 211-6 declared after bowling out Wanneroo for 76.

But they were unable to secure outright victory as Wanneroo ended day two on 249-9.
