WORCESTERSHIRE Cricket Society has honoured Ann Mullen for her many years of sterling service as secretary.

Mullen received a framed copy of the Three Pavilions print commissioned by the supporters’ association to mark the county’s 150th anniversary as a memento.

It was presented to her by former England and Warwickshire batsman Dennis Amiss at the society’s most recent monthly meeting in The View.

The painting by Worcester artist David Birtwistle shows Worcestershire CCC’s Isaac Pavilion at Boughton (1878-1896), the Foley Pavilion at New Road (1898-2008) and the magnificent view south-west across the current Graeme Hick Pavilion to the Malvern Hills.

Ann had already been made a life member of the society having stepped down as secretary and committee member in the summer.

She filled a vital role in many capacities, helping to ensure the smooth running of the society.

Mullen has been responsible for organising the interesting and varied guest speakers that have entertained cricket society members during the winter cricket evenings – including the current 2017-18 programme.

Committee member Mike Hitchings is continuing as the contact point for anyone wishing to get in touch with the society in the interim. He can be reached on 07979 464715 or via email: mikehitchings@aol.com

There are still copies of the print available to purchase. The cost is £50 plus postage and packaging if required from supporters’ association chairman Andrew Jenkins on 07582 372566.
