A FARM shop near Worcester has been forced to make the 'difficult decision' to close due to "economic conditions".

The Fold's Farm Shop, in Bransford, near Worcester, announced it would be closing its doors next month amid the cost of living crisis.

However, the closure of the shop does not affect the rest of The Fold's site including its cafe, markets or independent businesses.

The farm shop is set to remain open until Saturday, November 12 with customers able to pick up discounted items.

The statement said how grateful the team at the farm shop are for its many loyal customers.

It also paid tribute to the farm shop's dedicated staff.

It said: "Current economic conditions have led us to make the difficult decision to close our beloved Farm Shop.

"We are deeply grateful to our many loyal customers, and to the dedicated staff who have served you over the years.

"Our last day is 12 November, and we invite you to get a 15 per cent discount on all items starting this week."

The farm shop sold a variety of fresh organic vegetables and eggs, as well as produce from local suppliers.

Customers have been leaving comments saying how much they will miss the farm shop.

One commenter said: "I shall miss my favourite shop. It has been invaluable in the past couple of years especially and I've really appreciated the lovely staff.

"I hope you might consider reopening in the future if conditions improve but thank you to the Fold and staff for all your efforts."

Another commenter took aim at the government for a lack of "care of the economy"

They said: "Such a shame, the government have certainly taken care of the economy."

Despite the far shop closure, the rest of The Fold is unaffected, which features a cafe, an artisan village and a nature trail.

The centre is hosting an Autumn Family Market Event on Saturday, October 22 from 2pm to 5pm.

The Fold will still be offering the chance to purchase organic vegetables from the farm through the monthly veg box scheme.
