SIR - Given that it has recently officially been confirmed that Worcester's southern link road is already massively over capacity, any development plans for the west of Worcester, including Grove Farm and Earl's Court, should now be scrapped.

Undoubtedly the main artery for these developments would be the southern link road. To go ahead prior to massive road infrastructure investment ie. not tinkering' with the existing road, would be inexcusable and negligent.

How Worcester was chosen by the Government as one of 45 towns and cities for substantial further development is the coming years, is beyond me. Surely the first criteria to be considered when compiling this list should be a town's existing road infrastructure.

Worcester's current road infrastructure is totally inadequate to support any further development.
