SIR – Are Mr [Bill] Longmore, the newly appointed police and crime commissioner, and his deputy sidekick Mr [Barrie] Sheldon the emblazoned flagship for the conduct, culture and accountability of the police force?
Who is responsible for these elastic rules that permit such public appointments?
They totally defeat an objective to re-establish confidence in the police and serve only to clearly identify a total solidarity to maintain the culture of cronyism and complete arrogance to discard accountability.
It stinks of deceit and police unaccountability.
The public has been deceived and as usual the rules allow the appointments and decisions to remain unchallenged.
There is egg on more faces than just this pair.
