SIR – I see the fox hunters are still hoping to get Michael Foster’s Hunting Bill overturned.

This won’t happen because the hunters still want to kill animals for the sake of killing. This is not acceptable any more. It’s all very well saying it’s a tradition going back hundreds of years...

people have moved on. They used to kill whales, now we do everything to preserve them. All those silly things people did with animals such as bear-baiting, cock fighting and dog fighting – it’s not acceptable today.

If the hunters accepted that there was no place for needless killing they would probably have more people join them for a ride around the country. The hunters must accept killing for the sake of killing is outdated.
