SIR – Dog mess is pretty topical at the moment, so I thought as a responsible dog owner that I would just mention that when walking my dog I always have poop bags and I always clear up.

I walked 3.4 miles along the towpath in Droitwich the other day.

I got on near Galton Way and did my usual circular route towards Gateway Park, past the Eagle and Sun before rejoining Hadzor Lane and then back to my home in Hadzor.

There was not one bin for me to put my dog mess into and I also know I can walk all the way into Vines Park before a poop bin is available.

The weather was been hot over the past couple of weeks and the longer I held on to my poop the more the bag began to sweat.

Along my route I was stopped and asked directions by an elderly gentleman.

Without thinking I pointed him in the right direction, poop bag in hand.

It shouldn’t be like this – we need more bins from the council in this area.

The council cuts the grass in these areas so why not provide bins and empty them while the staff are there? It makes so much sense.

You might argue that cost is an issue but this issue needs to be addressed in the first place, then there might not be so much dog mess on the pavements and poop bags in the bushes.
