SIR – I thought you might be interested in the photograph, above, of my maternal greatgrandfather Charles Emms with his 21-year-old daughter Maud, my maternal grandmother, the youngest of his 13 children.
The photo was taken somewhere in the Littleton/Badsey area (Badsey Growers?) in the spring of 1906.
The gentleman on the left is Charles Emms junior and the cool dude next to Maud is her fiance and future husband Oliver Bubb, my maternal grandfather.
Oliver and Maud had four children, Sidney, Mildred, Dorothy and Edna.
Mildred (Millie) my mother, the sole survivor, has just celebrated her 104th birthday in Martley, near Worcester.
