SIR – Once again, some of your letter writers have forgotten two things.
1. To exceed the speed limit is a crime and those caught doing so should be punished.
The detection is not sneaky, there are warning sings and a big yellow box at the side of the road.
2 Does John Shearon think that he has changed the law?
Perhaps he would say the same logic applies to murder, sex crimes or if I took a dislike to him and saw it as my right to destroy his home and anyone in it at that time (an act of terrorism!).
I am grateful for the contributions speeding drivers make to the Government coffers – without them we would have to pay more taxes which fund the services we receive.
