SIR – David Barlow’s last letter tried to convince me how good the unions are.

All he did was convince me he’s like a shop steward who won’t listen to any other opinions but his own. Again I opened my paper and it seems Unite the country’s biggest trade union has been accused of rigging the contest to select a candidate for the Falkirk by-election.

I don’t understand all the ins and outs but I do know it’s not union business.

It seems Unite has donated £8 million to the Labour party since Ed Milliband became leader which is a good thing but they should let the politicians do their job.
