SIR – I am a little concerned about your reports on the man who threw himself into the river Severn from Worcester Bridge (Worcester News, August 6 and 7).

It is a newsworthy item but you only reported the ignorant negative remarks.

A campaign to cut stigma and ignorance of mental illness has been running for some time now but still does not seem to have taught everybody about mental health problems.

Personality disorder is a very nasty psychiatric illness and professionals are divided on its cause and treatment.

The exact details of this case will probably not be made public but it gives an opportunity to have a go at the Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust without all the facts.
