SIR – Could someone enlighten me about what is happening to our postal service in Dines Green.

It is a very hit and miss service and has been for a long time.

I can remember when we had domestic deliveries twice a day, so why lately do we have to put up with a disgraceful service that we are getting now? Any time between 9.30am and 4.30pm, if we are lucky.

I might add that we, the general public, are paying extortionate rates for a very poor service due to cuts in staff and working conditions, and probably wages.

It’s not good enough, Royal Mail, when it costs 60p for a first class stamp it should get there the next day.

Wake up to the people who you need to survive – even business people collect in person because they can’t rely on an early morning delivery.

MR D J OLIVER
