SIR – Not knowing what a chief executive’s job is I can’t really comment on it but I wish Trish Haines all the best and a happy retirement.
However, I do think Worcestershire County Council must never again give a salary as huge as she had which was more than the Prime Minister gets for looking after the whole country rather than one county.
It’s not fair to the council tax payers and it’s so easy to be generous with other people’s money.
I believe there’s several others working for the council on very large salaries which aren’t justified so I would suggest if councillors want to save money they should trim their huge pay deals and leave the buses alone, apart from getting them to reduce their fares as they are far too high.
