Further to Peter Cresswell's letter of 11th February, I was simply suggesting that in the process of drawing up the SWDP, Norton Parkway could have been considered as a new settlement, I was not suggesting that another 4,000 homes be built there. In fact I have opposed the current proposed development of the 2000 plus homes to the South of Broomhall Way since it was first considered, I have said on many occasions that if you are building homes for local people you do not build them adjacent to a motorway junction.

I also believe that the Planning Inspector is wrong to over rule the democratic process, with regard to the SWDP, and thrust yet more development on South Worcestershire . I'm not opposed to democracy, I don't know where he got that from, but I am opposed to interference in our local democracy and I want our countryside preserved wherever it is possible, I do not want to see Worcester concreted over! One exception to that is the North West Link in our Ring Road, we need that built now more than ever and if we didn't know before, the recent local weather conditions have made that abundantly clear!
