Sir - I would like to comment about the letter by Phil Pedler about cycling Laws.
True! There are such Laws, but I think that they need updating.
Safety comes first in some places in this city where there is not enough room to put cycle lanes. I myself sometimes uses the pathway where I know it is too dangerous to cycle on the road though I do get off and walk when there are a lot of pedestrians or common sense tells me there is not enough room.
The cycle/ pathways down New road,Warndon and St Peters are ideal but some cyclists do take advantage and speed along them frightening people. The painted lanes on the roads are sometimes ignored by drivers and are driven on. Most of the time they are too narrow or are faded so that nobody knows they exist.
