Sirs - Yet again today(Saturday) I have witnessed two traffic accidents where the slip road branches left off the Whittington Island down towards Malvern. In the second accident-these were 40 minutes apart -two police vehicles and an ambulance were present, and the damage to two vehicles looked severe. I can only hope no one was severely injured.

This island, when the works were first done, attracted much criticism due to its safety profile, with some drivers jumping the slip road queue by turning left at the island, and others saying the view over your shoulder whilst in the slip road, was non existent. I myself questioned its safety.

I still do.

Those of us who have got used to its poor and dangerous design are wary of it. As tourists and holiday makers come to Worcester, its a nightmare waiting to happen. I say again. This junction is unfit for purpose in its current form. And the council should close the slip road on safety grounds. Hopefully before its too late.
