Sir, In response to the article by Gemma Bate in Wednesdays edition of the Worcester News, sad as it may be that the graffiti was placed on the wall of the rowing club, the offending writing can quite easily be removed.
Not so with the blight on the river about two hunderd meters from the boathouse on the opposite river bank. It would serve the newspaper and the community at large if the same repoter were to take her camera to record the dilapidated pile of what was once river going craft and is now a pile of rotting junk, together with the associated lean to and piles of rubbish on the river bank, surely this really constitutes a blight on our otherwise attractive riverside.
Just maybe if this were to be highlighted whichever authority is responsible for this particular stretch of the river would like to comment on this disgusting sight on our river and why it has been allowed to exist for so many years, maybe it is regarded as a visitor attraction for passengers on the Severn river cruises.
