Sir - Cath Phillips wrote "Crossing is the worst in all the city" (WN 9.7.14), mentioning all the points that I put to Highways just after the crossing came into use. All my concerns were dismissed outright.

Yet another lights controlled crossing might not be acceptable, but some form of barrier to make it clear who is intending to cross, and to prevent cyclists from speeding across might be helpful.

Near the same location, the directional sign in southbound Croft Road was removed following damage some years ago.

When traffic is heavy there is no indication about correct lanes at the junction with North Parade, although there are worn out road markings near the junction.

Common sense would say that the near side lane is for eastbound and city centre traffic, but in fact it also takes westbound A449 traffic so confusion can result for visitors.

Two letter have been sent to Highways in the past two years, but no action. Does anyone else get the impression that senior management there does not want to listen to road users?
