Sir -I read with utter dismay of the untimely, tragic death of a thoroughly decent Worcester man, and proud police officer, Duncan Jones.
Duncan, together with his Dad and Mum and brother, put in hours of their time each week to help youngsters like my two sons gain in confidence, and progress at judo.
Despite being a formidable practitioner of judo, he always demonstrated kindness, fun, and patience with the youngsters he taught. Having bumped into him recently, I know how proud and happy he was to be a serving police officer.
My kindest thoughts go out to his wife and children, his family and friends.
They say the good die young, and sadly this has proved true for Duncan, a true and decent man.
Worcester will be diminished by this cruel loss.
