SIR - Re the letter from Dr Bridget Price (Friday, July 11).

Parking Eye is not charging anyone, but merely inviting people to pay with a totally unenforceable threat. Their parking charge notices can be safely consigned to the waste paper basket. Or kept as an amusing talk point at her next dinner party.

No, Dr Price should be aware of far more sinister threats from this gang member of Britain's surveillance society, (who also operates at both Blackpole shopping sites and the Fownes).

If your tax disc is out of date, or you have a minor parking shunt in Aldi's car park or any other contravention that the highly legally trained personnel monitoring the Parking Eye cameras deem worthy of notifying to the Old Bill, you will receive a summons in the post from West Mercia Constabulary, probably conviction (photographic evidence courtesy of Parking Eye) and consequential note on your criminal record file.

But, as you say in your letter, nothing to do with non-shopping enforcement.
