Sir - Let joy be unconfined! Once again, Pershore High Street is to be closed – this time for essential sewer works. So be it, it’s the price we pay for living in an ancient town.
I am a new boy in Pershore and only moved here in 1984, but I don’t recall a single year in which the High Street has not been closed for some reason or another!
The traders do a remarkable job in the face of such adversity – and I for one, will continue to make the effort to fight my way into town and do my modest shopping.
My heart sank when I read that Severn Trent are involved – it is to be hoped after the job is done, they will condescend to put their new manhole covers nearly level with the existing smooth road surface!
Please?
