SIR - When are the CCGs, NHS England and the Worcester Hospital Trust going to admit that the University of Birmingham Hospital Trusts option for the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch was never going to be looked at, as it would take money away from paying towards an expensive Whit e Elephant that was built in Worcester.
In my opinion no thought went into parking or transport routes when it was designed, on the back of an envelope at a drinks party by what my grandfather would have called 'people educated to stupidity level, with no common sense'.
With the announcement of a shopping complex being built next to the Worcester Hospital, this is only going to increase traffic congestion which will result in longer waiting times in ambulances trying to get into the hospital and therefore an increase in deaths.
Perhaps it is time for the Trust to admit that money is more important than a patient's health and for once try and see the residents of Redditch and its surrounding areas as people and patients rather than a 'cash cow' to support the Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
