SIR - Harry Redknapp wrote in the Sun newspaper on Saturday, September 13 that QPR should be able to spend as much as Manchester United on players on the transfer market before they play them.
Forgive me if I'm wrong but isn't he the man who ruined Portsmouth FC by buying over priced players and giving them large wages?
What I think is that all teams should only be allowed two new players per season and only one of them to be foreign, and none at all if they already have five in their team, and that might just give my beloved WBA some sort of a chance, that's just wishful thinking!
Going back to Mr Redknapp I don't think he would have been much of a manager 50 years ago when players were spotted playing for local teams and brought through the ranks, I don't think he could manage very well without a cheque book.
Years ago managers didn't get the attention as they do today, in fact I don't think half of the fans would have known who their manager was.

PS: The footballers wages are absolutely obscene and not fair on the working man, after all he pays part of their wages.
