Sir, I was astonished to read in your paper (Worcester News, 7 October) that Allah Ditta is once again at the centre of a dispute involving Worcester’s Muslim cemetery.
Following the shocking revelations that emerged during 2012 – when he threatened to dig up one of his own deceased community members – the Worcester Muslim Welfare Association made clear that they would be exercising greater control in future over the running of their cemetery.
Was I the only person that made the mistake of assuming that this would mean Mr Ditta was no longer going to be involved? Clearly that was an assumption too far.
I’m sure readers of the Worcester News will also note that a spokesperson for the Association made no attempt to apologise either for Mr Ditta’s behaviour on this occasion, or for their own failure to remove him two years ago from any active involvement.
It shows a breathtaking complacency on the Association’s part – which does an otherwise excellent job of representing Worcester’s Muslim community.
Robbie Porter,
WORCESTER
