Sir - The Government announced that it was asking The Arts Council to look more closely at the way that the arts are promoted in rural communities.

Recent figures suggest that the average annual spend per person in major city areas is around £6 whilst in rural communities this was less than £1!

For several years now, supported by The Arts Council, Worcester City Council, and Wychavon District, the 'Shindig' project has allowed village communities to enjoyed staging professional theatre productions and music in village locations that are available to everyone.

Ombersley Memorial Hall has been the setting for four of these and they have been very well received. The next production on Friday November 28th is comedy theatre 'Crazy little thing called love' From Kepow Theatre Company with Kevin Tomlinson.

This is a completely improvised, universally appealing, fast paced and extremely skilful comedy show about different types of love.

This Company has an international reputation and has toured to rave reviews.

Come along and join in the fun!

Kevin Tomlinson is recognised as one of the UK's leading comic improvisers. His career took off when he performed alongside the cast of â'Whose Line is it Anyway' at the famous Hackney Empire in a charity comedy show. Since then his improvisation shows have toured the world to great critical acclaim.

Friday 28th November, Ombersley Memorial Hall (WR9 0DY). 7pm for 8. Tickets £9.50. Buy on line at www.ombersely.ticketsource.co.uk or call 01905 356608.
