Sirs - Labour Councillor Adrian Sewell condemned the Harriers for having UKIP's banner, proclaiming he’d boycott all future Harriers games (WN 23rd Oct 2014).

He also showed his true loyalties by re-tweeting "clubisajoke #bantheboard" on 1st November. Wyre Forrest Labour Party also passed a motion stating:

"...all Community Organisations, including sports clubs, should be non-political and therefore should not accept advertising or any other form of funding from Party Political organisations".

The Labour Party also refused an offer to purchase advertising at cash-strapped Harriers ground.

Perhaps they should have spoken first with Labour PPC for Worcester Joy Squires who advertises in the match programme of Worcester City FC and given her a stern rebuke for bringing politics into sport!?

Commissar Sewell descends to the gutter, negatively stereotyping and labelling UKIP supporters as being somehow 'racists'. On 18th October he tweeted: "Not bothered about the Harriers loss today after noticing a UKIP board in the ground. Kick racists out of football! Let's kick racism out of football. Let's get the UKIP boards removed at Aggborough."

He further tweeted that Aggborough looked like the 1936 Olympics terming it "Reichstagborough"!

Quite apart from the insult and disloyalty towards Harriers and their real fans, at a time when the club needs more not less sponsorship; doesn't Mr Sewell owe an apology to UKIP supporters? Being the proud husband of an Asian born wife, I wonder if this deluded leftist thinks I’m a covert racist or Nazi?

H. Streets.
