SIR - With regard to the letter from Jonathan Sutton, Chief Executive of St Paul's Hostel (November 280 and the article of November 29, firstly all credit to your reporter James Forrest for a very factual account of Mathew Hatch-Diespecke's situation.
Mathew is correct in everything he said about failures of the local system.
Jonathan Sutton probably has no experience of mental health problems and no doubt has a well ordered life (and mind).
His smugly written letter of November 28 failed to mention that homeless services have been diverted away from locals in need due to the number of Eastern Europeans using their services.
God forbid there should ever be another John Maggs dead in their doorway because homeless services are concerned with foreign nationals.
While Mathew has a number of ongoing mental health issues at present, i do hope a brighter future lies ahead for this decent looking young man.
