It is unreasonable for Councillor Udall to criticise the decision to invite Lady Morrison to open the new Malvern Fire Station. It would be quite normal for such an invitation to be extended in the first instance to the Lord Lieutenant: if he is unavailable, the invitation would be forwarded to one of his Deputy Lieutenants, especially if one of them lives near to the place of the event. Lady Morrison is a Deputy Lieutenant and she lives very near to Malvern. The decision to invite her to open the Fire Station was therefore the obvious and natural one to make.
