SIR - Cllr Udall’s reference to the so-called ‘cruel political trick [of using] divide and rule’ (Worcester News 7th January) is an insult to the intelligence of voters, and not just the millions who went with UKIP last year.
The tired Leftist canard of my party blaming immigrants for all our ills is yet more spin from the Labour propaganda machine. Denigrating those who criticise open-door immigration and other symptoms of EU membership (of which there are many) cannot disguise the mess that has been created by Labour.
Were it not for their own failures, so much of Labour’s core vote would not be so disenfranchised and moving their support elsewhere. The chickens are coming home to roost.
Cllr Udall’s party is having leadership and existential crises played out for all to see. Lashing out at genuine alternatives such as UKIP can’t disguise that.

UKIP Parliamentary Candidate, Worcester
