Sir - I am writing in support of Wendy Lawson (ltrs. Feb 6th) re Halal slaughter.
There are already laws in this country regarding the treatment of animals,women and children, but for some reason best known to the authorities they prefer to back down and not enforce them, especially when they involve ethnic minorities.
Cultural practices should not be treated differently under the law of this country. We have not got the back bone of the French and we will rue the day.
