Sir - So the county council want to spend £22,000,000 on the new Norton station by borrowing £14.000,000.

This for the benefit of a few, and not the majority of Worcestershire tax payers - £14 million will cost the tax payer closer to £30 million by the time the "loan" is paid off.

The owners of the land also want to do the same but "use their own money". I say let the landowners get on with it, and Worcestershire C.C.help them all they can. It will save us a fortune.

If the county council persist in going down the road of a compulsory purchase order they will have a legal fight on their hands, and who will fund that fight "we, the taxpayers, that's who".

This will turn out into another expensive farce, if previous white elephant projects are anything to go by.

Besides the W.C.C. keep telling us they have no money, hence the cuts in services, now they want to spend £8M(where is that coming from ??) plus land us with a £14m debt for the next God knows how many years

Yours in poverty for years,

JEFF BAKEWELL
