Sir - I'm a bit taken aback by the letter in the Worcester News recently by Derek Fearnside, in that he feels all the people who mind giving to overseas aid are wrong?
Really.....with our country still not out of the hole it was dug into by Labour, how is it right when we have cut our forces, police, our NHS, schools, housing are in meltdown, we have seen the rise in food banks, low wages etc etc that we should give to countries that can afford space programmes and economies are far better than ours?
Now I read that handouts will hit £15.3 billion by 2019, up from £7.3 billion in 2009. I'm all for giving to good causes and the needy, but not just giving for the sake of it.... charity begins at home
