SIR - With spring just around the corner and the clocks going forward, TV Licensing is calling on everyone spending time with friends or relatives who are over 75 to check whether they have claimed their free TV licence.

More than 7,000 pensioners in Worcester are already enjoying the benefits of a concessionary licence and TV Licensing hopes that this reminder will prompt even more people to apply.

If you are aged 75 or over you are entitled to a free TV licence for your main home. The licence also covers any other household members living at this address. However, you need to apply for the free licence as it isn't issued automatically.

The process to claim a free over 75 licence is simple. Just call 0845 603 6999 or write to us at TV Licensing, Bristol, BS98 1TL. Details required to process the application are the applicant's name, address, date of birth and National Insurance number. For those aged 74 a short-term licence is also available.
