SIR - Once again in your letters of March 31 Sue Clarke is quite right with her observations in respect of our money being wasted.

A few years ago I had to visit a relative who was a patient in the then new Peterborough hospital and they had built a multi-storey car park for all the hospital staff and a very large area outside was the visitors car park at groudn level which catered for hundreds of cars etc.

In planning the hospital it replaced the several hospitals in and around Peterborough.

What a pity that the planner did not think on the same lines on a multi-storey staff car park when replacing the three hospitals in Worcester.

Sue Clarke is correct about the new bridge across the Severn at the bottom of Tybridge Street and the completion of the ring road. I have mentioned before that with the proposed building of many thousands more houses in the county, then multiply that with two cars per house not only Worcester city but the whole country will grind to a halt which has already happened in the city in recent times.

Here's hoping that one day we will have a county highways department that will stop wasting money on such follies as the A4440, the Ketch roundabout, and the Carrington bridge (which was badly planned when built) the result then maybe it will eliminate the problems facing the travelling public at present.
