SIR - What a great shame to have lost the only true local commercial radio station for this area - Classic Hits.
It has been taken over by Laser Broadcasting and is now called Sunshine Radio, in line with the one in Shropshire no doubt. However, local radio it certainly isn't anymore. In fact, many of those broadcasting cannot even pronounce the local town and village names correctly.
We had a good, friendly local radio station in Classic Hits. It was a genuine part of the community and almost an extended member of the family for regular listeners, particularly for some of the older people I know.
Now with practically all of the original presenters gone, it has become just like dozens of other radio stations. Sunshine? Dull and overcast would, I feel, describe the station rather better.
