SIR - I have seen photographs of war memorial gardens in Borneo. How beautiful and tranquil they look. Surely something along these lines would be more fitting as a memorial in Gheluvelt Park? Perhaps a semi-circular stone archway with nice stone seating planted with highly perfumed roses and a central floor with dedications.
As Gheluvelt is a park this would be more in keeping than the monstrosities so far put forward.
