SIR - Once again Worcester City Council is ignoring local residents and proceeding with plans for affordable housing on one the last remaining green areas within the city.
I can only assume that the reason for proceeding is to make a quick buck.
Not two years ago I received a letter from the council stating that the land off Randwick Drive should remain as a green area.
The statement in the letter reads "so as to protect the public's right to use them and safeguard them from being lost by being built over or encroached upon".
I suppose this should have read "until the council changes its mind and sees some cash in it".
As the council has now approved the sale, without replying to those who objected before going to the local press, I would like all those living in Worcester to oppose any plans for the area and any other areas in Worcester.
I urge all residents to object as 65 people objecting is not sufficient to prevent the council riding roughshod over local views and opinions.
STEPHEN PETERS, Warndon, Worcester.
