SIR -With regard to the latest figures that show that plastic is becoming a debate issue, it is with some regret that farmers are now using it to help propagate their fields. But, at what cost to the environment?
There are now six fields, that are covered with plastic in Hallow. What, might we all be asking, are they going to do with it once it is finished with? Burn it! If this is so, then it is going to pollute the atmosphere, is it not? It becomes sometimes beyond comprehension, and very sad, that farmers are turning to this method of growing crops.
ROGER PARKER, Hallow.
