SIR – Mr Shearon is apparently unaware that electricity was once provided adequately by Worcester City Council and we had the first hydro-electric power station. This was later supplemented by a power station in Hylton Road. However, electricity was subsequently nationalised and our investment taken from us.
What had been adequate and economical to meet our own needs was not so for the national network and led to its demise locally.
