SIR – The very last thing Britain needs is the useless euro currency. Even countries with it, due to rocketing prices, wish they had not joined it.

When decimal money was introduced to Britain on February 15, 1971, the price of everything trebled in 10 horrendous years. It would be total insanity to join the euro as due to the recession inflation will plummet from five per cent to zero and stay there.
