SIR – The Rev Michael Shiner (News item, November 29) was chaplin at Powick Mental Hospital at one time – a lovely, kind, true Christian man.
I cannot believe he is 87.
The tube has gone on my black and white TV so I happily listen to my radio and LP vinyl records instead and read.
I don’t really miss television.
