SIR – Having just read your lead story (Thursday, September 24) regarding Worcester’s park and ride – are the council really so naive?
The reason people are no longer using the park and ride is because of the changes and increases to the fares structure. I regularly drove from Warndon Villages to the Perdiswell site and went on the bus with my kids into the city. My son used it to access school at RGS and we welcomed not going into the city to drop him off and collect him. Then the price went up and it no longer became good value and is indeed simply on a par with parking the car in the city, especially if you only want to pop in for an hour. In short, the incentive to use it was greatly reduced.
Make the parking and riding good value for money and I’m sure people would use it...they did before.
Elly Harrison,
worcester.
