SIR – In reply to Alex Kear’s letter, why does he not come forward and say he is one of the nimbys from Claines and Hallow who oppose the completion of a ring road around Worcester because it encroaches on their hallowed ground. Anyone who has any idea of what is needed to alleviate the problems in the city and the southern link road starts with completion of a circuit around the city, not bus lanes and park and ride all around Worcester which will be undersubscribed like the one currently operating at a loss to council tax payers. As for Mike Foster not saying which party he represents, he has been Worcester’s MP for 12 years, so people know he is a Labour MP. Incidentally, I am a Lower Wick resident so I do know about traffic problems but believe a little noise and perhaps loss of some views are worth it to have good traffic flow around the city.
